Expand or contract a selection

Make a selection bigger or smaller by an exact number of pixels, all the way round its edge. It's how you leave room for a sticker's border, trim a halo off a cut-out, or fill flats just under the lines.

How to do it

Make a selection with the Select tool: Automatic, Freehand, Rectangle or Ellipse.
In the bar along the bottom, tap Modify.
Choose Expand… or Contract…
Type how many pixels, up to 500, and tap Expand or Contract.

Settings

Expand…: Moves the edge out by that many pixels, keeping its shape.
Contract…: Moves the edge in. If nothing would be left, Rindraw says so.
Grow: Adds the colors like it round its edge, within the tolerance.
Similar: Adds everything like it anywhere on the canvas, within the tolerance.
Tolerance: How alike a color has to be for Grow and Similar: 5% to 75%.
Move & Resize Outline: Moves or scales only the outline, not what's inside it.

Tips

Expand by a few pixels before Color Fill to tuck flats under the line art.
