Handbook › Drawing together
Draw together with SharePlay
Draw on the same drawing with someone else, over FaceTime or Messages. Every change anyone makes reaches everyone as it's made, and each of you sees where the others are.
How to do it
- Open the drawing, tap its name at the top, then Draw Together.
- In a FaceTime call it starts at once. Otherwise, choose who to invite in Messages.
- Those you invite join from the call or the invitation. The drawing arrives as a copy of their own, and from then on what anyone does reaches everyone.
- To leave, tap the drawing's name, then Drawing Together and Stop Drawing Together. Your copy stays as it is.
Settings
- Follow
- Keeps your view on someone else's, turned and zoomed as theirs is, until you move yours.
- Your Name…
- The name others see by your pointer. Until you give one, they see a color, and nothing's sent.
- Remove Others’ Strokes
- Takes everyone else's strokes out of your copy, and lets none of their changes in after.
- Report a Problem
- Tells us about something someone drew.
Tips
- Strokes, moves, colors, deletions, layers, frames, the background and the guides all reach everyone.
- Undo takes back your own changes only, never someone else's, and leaves alone what someone's changed since.
- If two of you change the same thing at the same moment, the later change wins. If your copy ever ends up different, it's matched within seconds, and Rindraw says Matched …’s Drawing.
- Others see your pointer, the stroke you're drawing as you draw it, and your Laser Pointer, in your color.
- Someone on an older Rindraw gets only strokes until they update, and the menu says so.
- Needs iPadOS 17, iOS 17 or macOS Sonoma or later.
