Drop shadow on a layer

The Drop Shadow filter casts a shadow from what's on a layer, soft and offset, below it. It stays live, so the shadow follows as you keep drawing.

How to do it

1. In Layers, tap the layer, then tap it again to open its options.
2. Choose Filters, then Add Filter, then Drop Shadow.
3. Set its Distance, Direction, Softness, Opacity and Color.

Settings

Distance

How far the shadow falls, 0 to 200 points.

Direction

Which way it falls, −180° to 180°.

Softness

How blurred its edge is, 0 to 60 points.

Opacity

0% to 100%.

Color

Any color.

Tips

• Combine it with Outline for lettering that stands off the page.
