Handbook › Moving and the view
Space things evenly as you move them
Laying out panels, stickers or a row of sketches, it's the spaces between them that need to match. The Transform tool snaps to them.
How to do it
- Put each thing on a layer of its own.
- On the layer to move, choose the Transform tool.
- Drag it near the middle of the space between two others, or as far past one as two others are apart. It snaps there.
- Pink marks show the spaces that now match.
Settings
- Snapping
- In the bar along the bottom. Turns snapping on or off, and sets how near and how slowly something has to come to snap. Equal spaces follow it, as edges do.
- Magnetics
- Keeps a move to one direction, and snaps only along it.
Tips
- Only ink beside what you move counts: ink level with it, for spaces across, or in line above and below, for spaces down.
- Edges and middles still snap too, in blue for other layers and yellow for the canvas. Whichever is nearer wins.
