Handbook › Layers
Group opacity and blend modes
A group of layers can have its own opacity and its own blend mode, so you can fade a whole character, or lay a group of shading over the picture in Multiply, in one move.
How to do it
- In Layers, tap Select, pick the layers, and tap Group.
- Tap the group, then tap it again to open its options.
- Choose Opacity… and drag the slider.
- Choose Blend Mode: Pass Through, or a mode under Isolated.
Settings
- Pass Through
- The group's layers blend with everything below them, each by its own mode, as if they weren't grouped.
- Isolated
- The group is composited as one image first, then blended by the mode you pick.
- Opacity…
- Fades the whole group.
- Filters
- A group can carry live filters too, which keeps it isolated.
Tips
- Select several layers to set their opacity, blend and label at once, in one step.
