Guides › Switching to Rindraw

Moving from Sketchbook to Rindraw

Sketchbook exports a sketch as a layered Photoshop file, and Rindraw opens it with its layers, groups and blend modes.

Step by step

  1. Export it as a PSD. Open the sketch, tap Share/Export in the menu, choose Export to Files or Share, and pick PSD as the file type. PSD is the one that keeps the layers; a PNG or JPG comes in as one picture.
  2. One at a time. Sketchbook can't export PSDs in a batch from the gallery, so export each sketch you want with its layers.
  3. Open it in Rindraw. Send it to Rindraw with AirDrop or the share sheet, or save it to Files and choose Import in Rindraw's gallery, where you can pick a whole stack of files at once. Each file becomes a drawing of its own.

What comes with you

Rindraw reads each layer's pixels, name, opacity, blend mode, visibility, clipping, locks and mask, in their groups, at the file's resolution and in its color profile.

Questions

How do I export Sketchbook art with layers?

Open the sketch, tap Share/Export, choose Export to Files or Share, and pick PSD. Sketchbook keeps layers, groups, names and most blend modes in a PSD.

Can I export all my Sketchbook drawings at once?

Not as PSDs: Sketchbook leaves PSD out of batch export. Export the ones you want layered one at a time.
