Rindraw vs ArtRage
Compared in October 2026. Both apps change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
ArtRage is made to paint like real media, and it's very good at it. Both apps are paid for once, with no subscription and no generative AI1. Choose Rindraw if you draw as much as you paint, want one purchase for iPad, iPhone and Mac, and want to change lines after you've drawn them. Choose ArtRage if you want digital oils and watercolors that behave as closely as possible like the real thing, or you work on Windows.
The main difference
ArtRage simulates physical paint2: thick oils that build up texture, paint tubes, palette knives, watercolors that bleed, and color blending in which yellow and blue make green. It's a painting app first.
Rindraw is a drawing and painting app built around keeping every stroke editable. Its wet brushes mix on the canvas too, but its strength is that a line, a sketch or a painted stroke can still be recolored, bent or exported bigger, and stays sharp.

Where ArtRage is better
- Paint that behaves like paint. Thick, textured oils, palette knives and watercolors, with color blending modeled on real pigment2. If you paint traditionally and want it to feel the same, ArtRage is closer.
- Windows and Android. Desktop and mobile versions for both1.
- Painting with a friend. PaintLink lets two people work on the same painting, and seamless tiled canvases suit game textures1.
- Price on a phone or tablet alone. ArtRage Vitae Mobile is $4.991.
Where Rindraw is different
- One purchase, three devices. $12.99 covers iPad, iPhone and Mac, with your drawings, brushes and palettes in iCloud Drive on each.
- Every stroke stays a stroke. Recolor finished lineart, warp a pose or export poster-size from a sketch drawn at screen size, without redrawing it.
- Drawing as well as painting. Steady lines with stabilization, Procreate and Photoshop brush import, animation, timelapse and painting on 3D models.
- Built not to lose work. Every stroke is saved as you draw it, and your undo history is still there after you close the app.
- Nothing collected. No account, no analytics and no tracking. See the privacy policy.
Moving between them
Rindraw doesn't open .ptg files. Export your painting from ArtRage as a PSD, which keeps its layers2, and Rindraw opens it with its layers and blend modes. Rindraw saves layered PSD files too, which ArtRage can open2.
Moving from another app? See how to bring your work over from Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, ibisPaint, MediBang Paint, Infinite Painter, Sketchbook, Adobe Fresco, Tayasui Sketches, Rebelle, Corel Painter, PaintTool SAI, Krita, or Photoshop.
