Rindraw vs Adobe Fresco
Compared in October 2026. Both apps change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
Adobe Fresco is a free drawing and painting app with live watercolor and oil brushes. Choose Rindraw if you want to draw on a Mac as well as iPad and iPhone, keep every stroke editable, and keep your work outside Adobe's cloud. Choose Fresco if you want it free, work on Windows, or already use Photoshop and Creative Cloud.
The main difference
Fresco is free, made by Adobe, and built on Photoshop's painting engine1. It has pixel brushes, vector brushes, and live brushes that behave like watercolor and oil, and your artwork syncs to Adobe Creative Cloud1. It runs on iPad, iPhone and Windows, but not on a Mac1.
Rindraw runs on iPad, iPhone and Mac for $12.99 once, with your drawings in your own iCloud Drive and no account. It keeps every stroke editable, on every layer and with any brush: recolor a line, bend it or export the drawing bigger, and it stays sharp.

Where Fresco is better
- Free. The drawing and painting tools cost nothing1.
- Live brushes. Watercolor and oil brushes that behave like the paint, on Photoshop's painting engine1.
- Windows, and Adobe's apps. It runs on Windows devices, including Surface, and works with Photoshop through Creative Cloud documents1, 2.
- Motion paths. Animate a drawing along a path, as well as frame by frame1.
Where Rindraw is different
- On a Mac too. The same app on iPad, iPhone and Mac, with a mouse, a trackpad or a pen tablet on the Mac.
- Every stroke stays a stroke. Not only vector brushes: sketches, inks and painting, with their texture. Recolor them, warp them or export them poster-size.
- Your files, your cloud. Drawings sync through your own iCloud Drive. No sign-in, no analytics and no tracking. See the privacy policy.
- Bring your brushes. Procreate brushes and brush sets and Photoshop
.abrbrushes come in, with their tips and grain. - Built not to lose work. Every stroke is saved as you draw it, and your undo history is still there after you close the app.
Moving from Fresco
Export your artwork from Fresco as a PSD2, then open it in Rindraw with AirDrop, the share sheet or the Files app: its layers come in with their names, opacity, blend modes and masks. Step by step: moving from Fresco.
