Rindraw vs Rebelle
Compared in October 2026. Both apps change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
Rebelle is the most realistic digital paint there is, especially watercolor. Choose Rindraw if you want to draw and paint on an iPad or iPhone with Apple Pencil, where Rebelle doesn't run, and on a Mac with the same purchase. Choose Rebelle if realistic watercolor, oils and acrylics are the point, and you paint on a computer.
The main difference
Rebelle simulates real media1: watercolor that drips, granulates and can be blown across the paper, oils and acrylics with thick impasto, and in Pro, bristle brushes, color mixing based on pigments, and lighting that shows the ridges of thick paint. It runs on Windows and macOS1, 2.
Rindraw is a drawing and painting app for iPad, iPhone and Mac that keeps every stroke editable. Its wet brushes mix on the canvas, but its strength is that a line, a sketch or a painted stroke can still be recolored, bent or exported bigger, and stays sharp.

Where Rebelle is better
- Realistic paint. Watercolor you can wet, dry, tilt and blow, oils with creamy impasto, metallic paints, and in Pro, pigment color mixing and bristle brushes1. Rindraw's wet paint doesn't go this far.
- Papers and canvases. Over 180 textured art surfaces, developed with academic professionals1.
- Windows, and Photoshop alongside. It runs on Windows, and Pro has a Photoshop plug-in for moving layers between them1.
- Prices adjusted by country. Rebelle's shop lowers its price based on the cost of living where you are1.
Where Rindraw is different
- iPad and iPhone. Pressure, tilt and barrel roll on Apple Pencil, with the same purchase covering Mac, and your drawings, brushes and palettes in iCloud Drive on each.
- Every stroke stays a stroke. Recolor finished lineart, warp a pose or export poster-size from a sketch, without redrawing it.
- Drawing as well as painting. Steady lines, Procreate and Photoshop brush import, animation and painting on 3D models.
- Built not to lose work. Every stroke is saved as you draw it, and your undo history is still there after you close the app.
- Nothing collected. No account, no analytics and no tracking. See the privacy policy.
Moving between them
Rindraw doesn't open .reb files. With Rebelle 8 Pro, export a layered PSD1, and Rindraw opens it with its layers and blend modes. Otherwise, export a PNG or TIFF from Rebelle and bring it into Rindraw as a layer. To go the other way, Rindraw saves layered PSD files.
Moving from another app? See how to bring your work over from Procreate, Clip Studio Paint, ibisPaint, MediBang Paint, Infinite Painter, Sketchbook, Adobe Fresco, Tayasui Sketches, ArtRage, Corel Painter, PaintTool SAI, Krita, or Photoshop.
