Rindraw vs Concepts
Compared in October 2026. Both apps change. If something here is out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
Concepts and Rindraw share an idea: a stroke you draw stays a stroke you can change. They use it for different work. Choose Concepts for design sketching, such as floor plans, products and diagrams, with precise vectors you can export as SVG or DXF. Choose Rindraw for drawing and painting, with textured brushes, wet paint and layers like a painting app, for $12.99 once.
The main difference
Concepts is a vector sketching app on an infinite canvas: "every stroke editable and scalable", changed with its Nudge, Slice and Select tools, and exported as vector SVG, PDF and DXF1. Architects, engineers and industrial designers are among the people who use it2.
Rindraw keeps each stroke as the path your Pencil took, with its pressure and tilt, and paints it again whenever you recolor it, bend it or export bigger, with its grain and texture. It's a painting app first: wet paint that mixes, blend modes, masks, adjustment layers, and Procreate and Photoshop brushes. What it exports is a picture, not a vector file.

Where Concepts is better
- Design work. Grids, snapping, scale and measuring, shape guides and perspective grids2, for floor plans, products and diagrams.
- Real vector files. SVG, DXF and PDF to scale, for CAD, cutting and printing1. Rindraw exports pictures.
- Free to start. An infinite canvas, unlimited drawings and five layers cost nothing2.
- Windows and Android. The subscription covers every platform2.
Where Rindraw is different
- Editable strokes with texture. Graphite that catches the paper's grain, chalk and wet paint, recolored or bent later and painted again with the same texture.
- A painting app's layers. Groups, masks, blend modes, adjustment layers and live filters, and layered PSD and Procreate files in and out.
- One price, everything in it. $12.99 once for iPad, iPhone and Mac, with no subscription, no packs and no per-platform purchase.
- Animation and 3D. Frames with onion skins, out as GIF or video, and painting on 3D models.
Using both
Sketch a layout or a perspective grid in Concepts, export it as a PSD or a PDF1, and paint over it in Rindraw, which opens PSDs with their layers and PDFs a page a layer.
